Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the Caliber desktop application and the website at caliber.so (collectively, the "Service") operated by the Caliber team ("we", "us"). By installing or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. What Caliber does

Caliber is a productivity tool for hiring managers and recruiters. It records audio from your microphone during interviews you conduct, transcribes that audio (via Deepgram), and uses a language model (Anthropic Claude) to generate structured scorecards and other artifacts from your rubric.

2. Your account & data

• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe.
• You must have the legal right to record any audio you process through Caliber. Many jurisdictions require interviewer consent — it is your responsibility to obtain it.
• Resumes, transcripts, scorecards, and notes you create through Caliber remain yours.

3. Acceptable use

• Don't use Caliber to record people without their knowledge if the law requires their consent.
• Don't share your subscription with multiple users — each user requires their own seat.
• Don't reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Mac application.
• Don't use the Service to commit fraud, harassment, or any illegal activity.

4. Subscription & billing

• Caliber is offered on a monthly subscription. The price is shown on the pricing page at the time of purchase.
• Payments are processed by Dodo Payments (our Merchant of Record). They handle billing, taxes, and refund processing.
• Subscriptions auto-renew monthly unless cancelled before the next billing date.
• You can cancel any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

5. Free trial

Caliber offers a 14-day free trial. No credit card is required to start the trial. At the end of the trial, the app moves to read-only mode until you subscribe.

6. Service availability

We do our best to keep Caliber running smoothly, but we don't guarantee uptime. The Service relies on third-party providers (Cloudflare, Anthropic, Deepgram, Dodo Payments) — if they have an outage, Caliber may be affected.

7. AI-generated content

Scorecards, suggestions, and other outputs from Caliber are AI-generated. They are aids for your decision-making, not substitutes for it. We do not guarantee accuracy. You are responsible for any hiring decisions you make.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms. You may stop using Caliber at any time by cancelling your subscription and uninstalling the app.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including hiring decisions you made based on Caliber's output.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced via email or in-app notice. Continued use after the change means you accept the new Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of [your city — TBD when you incorporate].
